PLA is the most widely used plastic filament material in FDM 3D
printing, due to its low melting point, high strength, low thermal
expansion, and good layer adhesion, although it possesses poor heat
resistance unless annealed.
PLA RepRap PT - 1.75mm 500g -
Rainbow Pastel (matt or glossy). This filament could be more matte at
190º-195º and more glossy at 215º
in some printers such as the Prusa.
Effect:
- It's a fun filament that always has different results from piece to piece, depending on the shade of the yarn at each moment!
- This
filament goes through various shades of lilac, light blue, turquoise,
light yellow, flamingo pink and light pink, in a rainbow transition in
pastel tones. This filament creates colorful prints with a gradient
effect.
PLA Features:
- PLA or polylactic acid is a material originating from renewable
natural sources that contains starch or sugar, such as corn, wheat,
sugar cane, beetroot or potato;
- The easiest for 3d printing;
- Generally the first filament which we start the 3d printings;
- Ideal for interior designs or prototypes;
- Good adhesion between layers;
- Suitable for contact with food;
- Not recommended for parts that will be exposed to temperatures up 70ºC.
Printing temperatures and suggestions:
For Printer maintenance:
After printing with other materials and in case of changing the
filament to PLA, we suggest that you preheat the printer to the PETG or
ABS temperature and then insert the PLA filament. This process prevents
clogging in any transition of filament types.
Spool dimensions:
- d1 Spool outer diameter Ø: 200mm
- d3 Spool inner diameter Ø: 52mm
- L1 Spool width: 45mm
- Empty spool Weight: less than 200g
Note: The spool may look different from the one shown in the image due to the spool return campaign.
There are two versions: 3D printed spool and plastic injection. Both have similar dimensions.
